Vendor Service Volunteer
Today, Street Sense has five employees, more than 130 active vendors, scores of committed volunteers and nearly 30,000 copies of Street Sense in distribution each month. Our committed volunteers have enabled the organization to help hundreds of men and women experiencing homelessness to get back on their feet. We are always looking for more dedicated volunteers to help our vendors at our office during the day.
We offer a morning (9am-1pm) and an afternoon (1-5pm) shift for those who can work part-time. We also welcome those volunteers who have a little more time to give and are willing to volunteer 2-3 days each week to really get to know our amazing vendors.
Vendor Service Volunteers serve on the “front lines” of Street Sense, distributing papers to our vendors so they can distribute the papers on the streets, earning an immediate income. Vendor Service Volunteers also help with administrative tasks in the office allowing staff members to focus as much energy as possible towards our vendors.

Digital Archivist Volunteer
Street Sense wants to exploit many of the opportunities that technology affords to reach as many people as possible. We are in the process of revamping our archives with an eye to how we can make these archives more accessible. Part of this process is going through the digital information we already have and making sure it is complete. Part of this process is getting all of our digital archives in a place where they can be easily accessed.
If you have an interest in web design, data systems, or digital libraries and archives, Street Sense would love to meet you and discuss how your skills and interests can be of great service to our organization and to the fight to end homelessness.
